The latest release of PBS™ V12.09 is a huge step forward for PBS™ Manufacturing. We’ve seen incremental change and progress with PBS Manufacturing software for small businesses over the last 20 years but nothing like we’ve seen in our latest release.

Enhanced Shipping

What can you look forward to with PBS small business manufacturing software V12.09? An enhanced shipping process is a good start. The packing list selection tool has become more powerful and allows the shipping manager the ability to do some things they’ve not been able to do before.

This includes the ability to select the shipping company while selecting the packing list for printing. Often, they’re shopping for the best company for a specific delivery and simply noting it on the printed packing list for someone else to change in the order itself.

Today, this can be done immediately while selecting the line or lines on the order that are shipping.

Additionally, the shipper can also add in the freight amount quoted from the carrier immediately and without ever having to leave the selection screen. That makes the billing function simpler for accounts receivable and also ensures the packing list is reflecting the appropriate carrier when it’s printed.

Shipping Notes

PBS small business manufacturing software now provides the ability to add what we call shipping notes to each line on the order. Perhaps you wish to reflect which box or pallet this product is in.

Maybe there are simply some specific notes the shipped wants to convey to the receiver on the other end. Regardless, we’ve provided additional lines that can be added at the time of selection and included with the sales order line comments on the printed packing list.

In addition to all of this, we’ve provided some information that will make communication with sales even better. When a packing list has been printed, for each line selected on that packing list, sales will be able to see when it was printed. This means they don’t have to call out to the warehouse or shipping department to see if this is in progress, they can see it right in the sales order itself.

This kind of efficient feedback allows your sales people to communicate with their customers more accurately and efficiently. Once the order has been shipped and billed, the date in the line will be cleared automatically.

Shipping History

One last thing, we’ve even added a new shipping history file, and associated report providing even more visibility of the shipping process.

This is but one major set of enhancements we’ve made to PBS small business manufacturing software. Add to that the item keyword search tools, a purchase order copy function, more graphical screens, and new barcoded Shop Order Traveler and Shop Order Routing for data collection that can be printed to any Windows printer.
